Senior Project Manager

Loblaw is the largest Canadian retailer with over 2,400 stores across the Country. It operates under 22 banners/brands, as well as pharmacies, banking and apparel. As a Senior Project manager, I

  • Led an enterprise-wide MarTech (marketing technology) capability review and strategy planning initiative with C-level stakeholders. The goal of the project was to assess the company's technology capabilities and marketing tool sets and identify inefficiencies. Based on the results, a roadmap was developed for the next 3-5 years on what technology enhancements the company needed to improve its marketing capabilities. I coordinated the stakeholders, SME's and third party consultants during the course of the project. 
  • Managed the implementation of a cloud-based social media marketing tool (Sprout) and integration with the company's existing Salesforce system and customer service processes. The goal was to seamlessly replace an old Salesforce feature due to EoL without disrupting the customer service team or the customer experience. This organizational change brought a higher level of efficiency, better customer service capability (better visibility and faster response time to customers).  The project was completed on time and on budget. 
  • Filled a Scrum Master role for a team of software developers working to customize the Adobe AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) platform to improve the company's marketing processes around digital content delivery and management. Supported the team and saved the company $100,000 by solving problems using critical thinking. Led the team's scrum ceremonies and improved team performance and collaboration by establishing trust and boundaries between stakeholders.

Senior Manager

WebinARE is a tech startup company that provides SaaS for enterprises to run and control their own virtual communities and generate leads through online events. 

  • As a Senior Manager, I oversaw and played a role in operations of multiple areas of the business, including managing discussions between the technical team and the clients. To improve efficiency and agility I implemented the Agile Scrum methodology and supervised the software development team.
  • I managed part of the customer development process by developing marketing and sales strategies, then overseeing the execution (content generation and marketing campaigns: posts, newsletters, videos).

In response to the rapidly changing environment caused  by Covid-19 at Virtual Event Service we created, pivoted and launched a new platform and a service aimed at helping enterprises to port their physical event to the virtual space. 

  • I played a key role in the business development and onboarding of three national Clients.
  • Oversaw the delivery of two of Canada largest virtual events in 2020 from a technology/platform perspective.
  • Managed the 3rd party vendors and monitored their performance and launched multiple social media campaigns for brand awareness and lead generation.

Director of Innovation

HEPA Canada works under the mandate of the Hungarian government to promote Hungarian companies and trade opportunities for Hungarian products in Canada. As the Director of Innovation, my role was to lay the groundwork for the ITC sector at the time of the office's launch. 

  • Conducted market research on the Canadian Information Technology and Communications industry and reviewed competitors’ products.
  • Spearheaded the qualitative customer interviews to validate product-market fit and to identify opportunities.
  • Developed strategy for products entering the Canadian market, implemented processes to ensure continued company growth.
  • Created strategies for startups to build presence and brand awareness with potential buyers.
  • Identified  local influencers and potential distribution channels for select products and negotiated prices and distribution condition terms.
  • Assisted in the evaluation of the company’s IT infrastructure and security.
  • Managed the implementation of the CRM system into the daily operation of the office and trained the office staff.

Aiontech is a Latin American fintech startup, that moved its headquarter to Toronto, to open the market for its existing service portfolio. 

As a Consultant I joined the founder and CEO of the company to build and open the Canadian market for the company.

  • Market Validation – Conducted primary and secondary market research to validate the hypothesis and invalidate assumptions, create customer personas and understand better and clearer the market space.
  • Product Validation – Interviewed potential customers with respect to their behavior, challenges and discover new opportunities that might have been under the radar
  • Value Proposition – Defined unique value proposition and differentiator for the customers of the product
  • Marketing Strategy – Developed a channel strategy to target engage and build relationships with customers
  • Led the user experience design and landing page development,
    Supported CEO in developing strategy and sales pipeline
  • Creating a proof of concept deployment plan for prospected clients
    Created an operational process for internal use to comply with SR&ED reporting requirements

2019

Senior Project Manager

Munich Re is one of the world's leading providers of reinsurance and insurance-related risk solutions, and the leading reinsurer in Canada. Launched its New Venture department to develop innovative, digital solutions for all lines of life and health insurance.

As a Project Manager, I led a SaaS development and implementation project to enable our B2B clients to sell insurance online to their customers using our white label platform. During my engagement, I

  • Acted as a Client advocate to ensure the product was built with a customer-centric and customer-first approach. Managed vendors delivering MVP, and full-scale software solutions.
  • Supervised multiple vendors in across Canada, and a team of 8-15 people with an approximate budget size of $600k.
  • Led 3 parallel projects from inception to implementation according to the company's SDLC methodology, including requirements gathering, analysis of existing business processes, wireframes, mock creation, design, MVP, software development, UAT, and launch.
  • Liaised with C-level stakeholders and managed constant changes to the project scope from stakeholders and clients.

2016 - 2017

Senior Project Manager - Scrum Master

Rogers Publishing (now: SJC) is one of the largest media and digital publishing companies in Canada. As a freelance project manager, I joined to take over several ongoing projects, managing vendors around the world and a variety of teams. During my contract, I

  • Managed and led a high visibility project, transforming and redesigning a flagship online magazine with 2 million unique visitors per month, keeping the customer at the center of the user experience.
  • As Scrum Master, I facilitated all Scrum ceremonies with the project team, such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Demos, Sprint Review, Retrospective and Backlog Grooming. Managed the backlog using JIRA and Agile Kanban boards.
  • Contributed to business case analysis to increase revenue through e-commerce and affiliate programs, improved teamwork efficiency through communication, introduction of touch points and re-establishment of ground rules. 
  • Managed remote (EU, AU, US) vendor teams and held them accountable for the deliverables while maintaining good relationships.

Digital Project Manager

KMTV Media is an independent media production company that produces niche television programming and online courses. As Digital Project Manager, my mandate was to lead a digital initiative to engage audiences through online courses and generate new revenue streams for the company.

  • Managed the end-to-end development and successful launch of a WP-based online course platform. Integrated with an e-commerce platform for online payments and an auto responder for newsletter marketing.
  • Developed standard project documents (project charter, statement of work, project tracking, reports) and obtained project sponsor approvals. Recruited and assembled a team of subject matter experts and liaised between business stakeholders and technical staff.
  • Introduced Agile/Scrum project management methodology to the organization for the first time. Managed the sprint backlog and conducted scrum ceremonies to keep projects on time and on budget.

2012 - 2015

Project Manager

Hostopia is a B2B Cloud Hosting and private label digital services provider in Canada and the U.S., enabling Clients primarily in the Telecom sector to provide an online presence to their SMB customers (website builder, webmail, e-commerce, digital marketing, etc.). 

As a Project Manager, I was responsible for the full-cycle management of multiple projects, including

  • Run the migration of thousands of live business accounts from legacy systems to the Cloud.
  • Led a customer centricity initiative to retain existing clients, and reduce churn rate.
  • Managed the proper setup of Cloud hosting accounts for new Clients and ensured all the Web Applications were configured. 
  • Held internal trainings on Agile Scrum Methodology and Change Management to my peers. 
  • Won an internal competition on how to increase revenue from existing channels and Clients.
